Characteristic Subject of CSU
Central South University (CSU) is located in Changsha, a famous historical and cultural city in Hunan, China, and it covers an area of 2,760,000 ㎡, with its campuses by the east and west of Xiangjiang River. Backed by the majestic Yuelu Mountain and facing the Xiangjiang River, CSU has pleasing scenery and is ideal for study and research. CSU is the most important R&D platform of PM.
Feature 1:CSU has complete disciplinary systems for non-ferrous metal subject system in the world, forming a non-ferrous metal subject group with the world's advanced level.
Feature 2：CSU has a rail transit discipline system with a history of more than 60 years, which has made important contributions to the construction and technological development of major railway projects such as the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, high-speed rail, urban rail, and 6 times of speed increase of existing railways in China.
The university participated in the construction of the "Qinghai-Tibet Railway Project"
The series of research results of railway aerodynamics are widely used in the acceleration of the western railway and the construction of high-speed railway
Powder Metallurgy Research Institute
· Institute of Powder Metallurgy is one of the 31 secondary colleges of Central South University;
· A comprehensive base integrating teaching, scientific research and industry in the field of new materials in my country.
Powder Metallurgy Research Institute (PMRI) of Central South University is a comprehensive institution of integrating education, scientific research and industrialization. Supported by the institute, there are four state level bases, namely “State key Laboratory of Powder Metallurgy”, “National Key Laboratory of Light Weight and High Strength Structural Materials”, “National Engineering Research Center of Powder Metallurgy” and “China Nonferrous Metal Industry Powder Metallurgy Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center”.
PM has a public service platform for "Key Technologies in Common of Typical Nanomaterials Research & Development" and “High-efficiency Precision Carbide Tooling and Die Engineering Technology Research Center” in Hunan Province.
