On August 23rd, the "Shenjiang No.1" slurry balance shield machine, jointly developed by China Railway 14th Bureau Group and CRCC Heavy Industry Group, successfully rolled off the production line in Changsha. With an excavation diameter of 13.42 meters, a total length of 130 meters, and a total weight of 3,800 tons, the shield machine will be used in the construction of the Shenzhen-Jiangmen Railway Pearl River Estuary Tunnel, known as "China's deepest undersea tunnel".

For this project, CRCC Heavy Industry adopted a number of technologies and solutions with independent intellectual property rights to cope with the complex conditions of the ultra-deep seabed, and various technical indicators have reached the international advanced level. In reports, the "good-looking" "Shenjiang No.1" cutterhead is inlaid with high-performance cemented carbide shield cutter heads. As the "pioneer force" of the entire shield machine, the shield cutter head is also one of the most critical core components. These core components are independently developed by Boyun Oriental according to different working conditions and requirements. Their technical indicators have met the selection requirements of CRCC Heavy Industry, and they have core competitiveness among domestic and foreign counterparts, which will greatly improve rock-breaking efficiency.
